Bajaur girls: KP Governor phones CM Qaim

KARACHI: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Abbasi on Wednesday held telephonic conversation with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah over the Bajaur girls recovered by Karachi police yesterday, ARY News reported.

Karachi Police in a raid at a house in Liaquatabad on Tuesday recovered 26 minor girls of Bajaur tribal region.

Governor Abbasi urged Sindh Chief Minister in their conversation not to handover the girls to an unrelated person.

He also asked the government of Sindh to ensure protection of the girls till handing them over to their parents.

Karachi police on a report conducted raid at a house in Liaquabad’s C-1 area on Tuesday and recovered 26 girls, aged between 8 to 10 years.

Police sources yesterday said that the girls were brought to Karachi from Bajaur Agency and were being kept in captivity.
