Balochistan opposition leader escapes bomb attack

QUETTA: Opposition Leader in the Balochistan Assembly Maulana Abdul Wasay escaped a bomb attack in Quetta today, ARY News reported.

According to sources, Mr. Wasay’s vehicle was passing through Khanozai area when a roadside bomb went off. However he remained safe, but his vehicle was damaged a little.

Sources said the bomb was remote-controlled. Heavy contingent of law enforcers reached the spot and started collecting evidences. Maulana Wasay left the place with his convoy.

Meanwhile, security forces also found a roadside bomb on route of Deputy Chairman Senate Abdul Ghafoor Haidery in Saryab. Bomb Disposal Squad was called to the site and the explosives were defused before the arrival of Maulana Haidery.

Forces provided alternative route to Mr. Haidery due to security reasons.
