On December 14, 2014, the election tribunal had ordered re-polling for the seat.
Mr Askani, who was appointed adviser to chief minister on fisheries, had won the seat in 2013 elections on a PML-N ticket. Mohammad Akram Baloch of the National Party had challenged the result in the tribunal, alleging that Mr Askani had won the election through bogus votes.
Earlier, Supreme Court had ordered to hold re-election in PB-50 due to the disqualification of Akbar Askani.
The Election Commission of Pakistan had handed over to polling staff election material that has subsequently been shifted to polling stations under strict security arrangements.
