Bilawal announces Rs 150bn package for Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday announced Rs 150 billion development package for Karachi, ARY News reported.

“The package will be including 181 development schemes for the megapolis, while monitoring teams comprising of representatives from political parties, civil society and media will be formed to ensure transparency in utilization of funds,” said Provincial Minister for Local Bodies Nasir Hussain Shah during a press conference at Sindh Secretariat.

He said the funds allocated for development in Karachi are only meant for the populace and nobody will be allowed to usurp this money.

In response to a query about a coalition being formed against PPP, the minister said such coalitions have been formed in the past as well and party always stood firm against them.

Speaking at the presser, PPP Karachi division president Najmi Alam said the politics of strikes has come to an end in Karachi and soon the people will witness development here.
