Bilawal blasts govt for ‘imposing’ heavy taxes on masses

LAHORE: PPP patron-in-chief Bilwal Bhutto Zardari has taken exception to the government for ‘imposing’ huge burden of taxes on the masses, ARY News reported.

The government has imposed Rs 40 billion taxes on people without approval of parliament, said Bilawal while addressing a mass wedding ceremony held under a welfare trust in Lahore.

He castigated the PML-N led government for “focusing on colourful buses rather than addressing basic problems of the people.”

Bilawal said government seemed oblivion to issues facing the masses.

Several political figures including Pakistan People’s Party patron-in-chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto and Bakhtawar Bhutto attended the function.

PPP’s Aitzaz Ahsan, Latif Khosa, Jahangir Badar Nadeem Afzal Chan, as well as Jamaat-e-Islami and other party leaders were also in attendance.

As many as 50 couples are tying the knot in the mass wedding ceremony today. The couples belong to different districts of Punjab.

Our correspondent Nazir Bhatti reported that PPP Presdient Asif Ali Zardari has sponsored the wedding ceremony.
