According to details, the two political personalities met each other at the British embassy in Islamabad. Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Sheikh Rasheed discussed the on-going situation of Pakistani politics at length, particularly the Panama leaks controversy.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chief called for strict accountability against all. Bilawal Bhutto was particularly pleased to meet Sheikh Rasheed and said that he had always hoped to meet the AML chief since he was a people’s man.

Sheikh Rasheed is the chief of Awami Muslim League, a political party he formed in 2008. Following the Panama leaks controversy, opposition parties in Pakistan have called for PM Nawaz Sharif to be probed through a transparent process.

On Thursday, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif dismissed eleven serving army officers on corruption charges. The unprecedented move has put the federal government and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif under more pressure to conduct a transparent trial on the disclosures of the Panama papers.
