KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Wednesay announced to lead a procession on 16th October in memory of the Karsaz blast victims.

Bilawal, in a video message, said that the ‘Salam-e-Shuhada’ procession would be taken out from his residence Bilawal House in Clifton, to Karsaz on Shahrah-e-Faisal at 10 AM on Sunday.

He said that the Islamic month of Muharram reminds us of the immortal sacrifices of Imam Hussain (RA) who embraced martyrdom but upheld the sanctity of Islam.

“Muharram reminds us of the sacrifices at Karbala. It reminds of Bibi Zainab (RA) whose struggle and sacrifices are a role model for the world,” he said.

He said that the political struggle of the PPP had seen various martyrs including Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shahnawaz Bhutto, Murtaza Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, and hundreds of political workers.

“The political struggle of the PPP has been against injustice, and for the sake of democracy,” said Bilawal.

He called the attack on 18th October 2007 as the worst  day in the political history of Pakistan, and called on people to join him to pay tribute to them.
