Black day observed against blasphemous caricatures

KARACHI: Scores of religious political parties and groups are observing black day on Friday (today) against the French magazine over publication of blasphemous sketches of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), ARY News reported.

A coalition of politico-religious groups including Jamaat-i-Islami, Jamatud Dawa, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan, Sunni Tehreek and Sunni Ittehad Council had announced yesterday launching countrywide protest campaign against the publication.

Protest demonstrations and processions will be held in Lahore, Karachi and other cities and towns across Pakistan.

The religious leaders have urged the leaders of the Muslim countries across the globe to get united for protecting the sanctity of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Tehreek Hurmat-i-Rasool chief Maulana Amir Hamza has urged the leaders of the Muslim countries to demand an international law against blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
