Blast near ex-CM KP Ameer Hoti’s house in Mardan injures policeman

KARACHI: A police official has been injured in an explosion outside the Mardan residence of a former chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Thursday, ARY News reported.

Soon after the explosion, police officials arrived at the spot and started a search operation in the area while a bomb disposal squad was also called in.

The explosion left a policeman injured, who was later shifted to a nearby hospital in Mardan, while the minister himself remained unhurt.

The Awami National Party (ANP) leaders have been continual targets of militant outfits operating in the northwest region of Pakistan.

Ameer Haider Khan Hoti had also escaped a suicide attack that targeted his convoy in Mardan in February 2013.
