The actor has been in frail health for a long time. However, the situation worsened and he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital after complaining of respiratory problems.
According to doctors the next 72 hours are critical but he was not in intensive care. Earlier, his family said that there was nothing to worry. He was admitted at around 2 AM on Saturday.
The 93-year-old actor was born as Mohammad Yusuf Khan but adopted the screen name of Dilip Kumar. His last film was released in 1998 and is considered as one of the finest actors in the Indian film industry.
