Having started on not such a good note in the industry, the actor rose to fame with director Prakash Mehra’s ‘Zanjeer’ in 1973. The film was a turning point in his career as he gave a string of hits post that. His films like ‘Abhimaan’ and ‘Namak Haraam’ won him accolades all over.

When asked about his birthday, the Big B replied, “It is going to be just like any other normal day with the family. Nothing special.”

The actor also said that he is in a happy space both personally and professionally.

“My present is by the grace of the almighty, so immensely busy that I have little time to look back and assess. But even if I were to, what would I assess? Personally I have my family, professionally I have a few projects which I am working on. I spend time with them in equal measure. Each passing year is a reward for me,” he added.

Mr Bachchan has delivered power-packed performances in films like Deewar, Zanjeer, Sholay, Don, Abhimaan, Agneepath, Black,Sarkar, Cheeni Kum, Paa, Satyagraha and Piku.

The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1984, the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015.

Mr Bachchan will be seen next in Wazir, co-starring Aditi Rao Hydari and Farhan Akhtar. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Wazir is scheduled to release on December 4.
