Bollywood stars all set to perform at IPL 8 opening today!

Fans of cricket and entertainment alike should brace themselves for an enthralling spectacle today. Bollywood stars and cricketers will don the stage for the opening ceremony of Indian Premiere League today.

Salt lake stadium will be the center of attention as Bollywood’s best, such as Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan will be present on the occasion to kickoff the much anticipated event. Kareena Kapoor’s beau Saif will host the show as Hrithik, Anushka, Shahid and Farhan will demonstrate their talent for the thousands in attendance. With Farhan responsible for provide music for the ears, Anushka and Hrithik to show off their grooving skills, the event is set to be a promising one. An estimated total of 68,000 participants in the second largest stadium of India (the largest being Eden Gardens Stadium) will be expected to tear the roof down.

Captains of all IPL cricketing teams will be present at the opening ceremony. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni, Delhi Daredevils (DD) captain JP Duminy, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) captain George Bailey, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Gautam Gambhir, Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma, Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Shane Watson, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain David Warner will be present at the venue. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), owned by Shah Rukh Khan, are the reigning and defending champions of the trophy.

The mega event will kick off at 7:00pm PST for all those who are interested in viewing the spectacle. Yesterday, rain threatened to disrupt performances but were unable to thwart Hrithik and Anushka from performing.
