The Rangers’ vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device planted in a motorcycle. The soldiers’ vehicle was passing by the area when the explosives went off. Four persons were injured in the attack.
The injured were moved to a nearby hospital. The Rangers’ personnel remained safe in the attack.
Police reached the spot after the incident, cordoned off the area and began investigation. It may be noted here that encounters between security personnel and militants often take place as Baldia Town is believed to be infested with criminal gangs and activists of banned terrorist outfits.
