Boxer Amir Khan prays at Data Darbar Shrine in Lahore

Pakistani born British boxer Amir Khan posted a picture of his own Facebook, in which the athlete can be seen offering prayers at Data Darbar shrine in Lahore.

Pakistani boxer Amir Khan paid his respects at Data Darbar shrine today. The Pakistani boxer stated that every time he went into a fight, the main purpose always stays the same; to make sure the Pakistani flag gets respect and recognition.

The internationally renowned boxer paid his respects at the Data Darbar shrine and was accompanied by his wife Faryal Makhdoom, his daughter and brother. After offering a prayer at the shrine, Amir also laid the floral wreath.

Speaking to media personnel outside the shrine, Amir Khan stated that he had prayed for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.

“I have always received respect and love from Pakistan. Every time I fight, my purpose is to make sure the Pakistani flag is held high in esteem,” said Amir. Amir also said that he wanted to let the world know that Pakistan was a safe place. On the occasion, he also spoke about the local talent in Pakistan,

“I want to do something for boxing in Pakistan,” he said. “There seems to be a lot of talent in Pakistan and I am sure we can produce brilliant athletes from the country.”
