British High Commissioner calls on Shahbaz Sharif

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was called on by British High Commission Thomas Drew who discussed a range of issue issues including extending cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries.

The British envoy expressed his good wishes for the speedy recovery and the health of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Shahbaz Sharif apprised him of the efforts undertaken by the government since the last three years and the various development projects which have been launched in the country. He said that the country has made considerable progress under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.

He said that there was no room for extremism and terrorism in the country, and that there were making countless sacrifices to rid the country of this evil which has plagued the country.  He said that Pakistan desired good relations and give deep consideration and importance with its ties with Great Britain.

High Commissioner Drew said that there have made efforts for concrete improvement in various projects such as education, health and other social welfare projects. He said that the British government was providing aid for several social welfare and is ensuring it is used in a fair and transparent manner.
