Polling in NA-137 by-election underway amid rigging allegations

NANKANA SAHAB: Polling for by-election in NA-137 Nankana Sahab constituency is underway here on Sunday, ARY News reported.

The seat had fallen vacant after the demise of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rai Munsib Ali Khan.

The voting process in the Municipal Committee polling station for women was stopped after chaos erupted in the constituency.

Wife of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate for the elections Shahjahan Bhatti has claimed that voters were forced to ballot in favour of Lion (electoral symbol of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz).

Independent candidate Aijaz Shah has also accused PML-N of rigging the polls.

N-League candidate Dr. Shezreh has dismissed the rumors and expressed optimism of winning the by-election with a huge margin.

Shezreh is one of the strongest candidates contesting the polls.
