Cairns driving truck to get by

AUCKLAND: In the midst of match fixing allegations, former all rounder of New Zealand Chris Cairns has now been facing severe financial issues due to unemployment that pushed him to drive a truck and to clean bus shelters, ARY News has learnt.

According to International media, the 44-year old cricketer is driving a truck for $17 an hour and cleaning bus shelters to make ends meet and to support his family. Cairns has reportedly taken up a job with Auckland Council which operates trucks that are used for water blasting bus stations.

New Zealand’s local newspaper quoted Dion Nash, NZ’s former cricketer and Cairns close friend, as saying that Cairns is a champion guy and showing guts and doing hard work.
