Moon not sighted, 1st Ramazan in Pakistan on Friday

KARACHI: The moon for Ramazan not sighted in Pakistan, fasting in the country will begin on Friday (June 19), ARY News reported.

Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman presided the meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee that was held in Karachi today evening.

Zonal Ruet-e-Hila Committees also meet at their respective headquarters for Ramazan moon sighting.

In the press conference,  Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman announced that committee didn’t received reports of moon sighting from different parts of the country. Therefore, 1st Ramazan will be on Friday (July 19).

Earlier today, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had predicted that chances of sighting the new moon of Ramazan, 1436 Hijri on the evening of June 19, 2015 were low.
