Those suspended include Chief Controller Lahore Zahid Saeed, Deputy Chief Controller Zafar Siddique, and Deputy Controller Allah Rakha.
Apart from them, Station Superintendent Faisalabad Ahsanul Haq, Mechanical Foreman Faisalabad Muhammad Hanif, Assistant Driver Muhammad Fayyaz and Railway Guard Shahid Bhatti have also been prevented from working.
The suspension orders were issued by the CEO Pakistan Railways upon the findings of a joint investigation team.

Earlier on July 3, a special train carrying officials and soldiers of the Pakistan Army plunged into the canal due to the damaged track. The incident claimed lives of over 20 soldiers including a Lt Col and his family.
