A bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk hearing a plea to stop any extra-constitutional step in the country.

Justice Nasirul Mulk while refuting the allegation of the PTI’s estranged leader Javed Hashmi about his association with Imran Khan said that he had only once met with the PTI chief as the acting Chief Election Commissioner. He had talked about introduction of bio-metric system in elections.

The Chief Justice clarified that he didn’t met with the PTI leader before or after this meeting and rubbished any association with him.

The court after brief hearing issued notices to all the parliamentary parties.

The Supreme Court had asked the PTI and PAT counsels yesterday to inform the bench what role they want the apex court to play in the ongoing crisis.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s counsel said that the demands being made are political in nature and does not require interference of the apex court in the matter.

The protesters continue to present in Islamabad’s Red Zone which houses several important government buildings including the Prime Minister’s House.
