China backs Pakistan's efforts against terrorism: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan and China have been agreed to work jointly to curb terrorism, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Aziz was addressing a joint press conference with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi who arrived here today for a two-day visit to hold bilateral talks, promote economic and trade cooperation and discuss the regional situation with the Pakistani leaders.

Sartaj Aziz said that China has lauded the steps taken by Pakistan for elimination of terrorism in the country.

The Advisor said Pakistan and China are agreed to work togather in Afghanistan.

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the two countries have contacts over the top leadership level. He said President Xi Jinping will soon arrive in Islamabad. The visit will further boost bilateral ties between the two countries, he said.

Chinese foreign minister earlier held a meeting with Sartaj Aziz at the foreign ministry.

The two sides also discussed  Pak-China economic corridor project. Chinese foreign minister assured the Pakistani officials that China will extend full cooperation for the early completion of the project.
