Chinese President’s visit to Pakistan postponed

ISLAMABAD: The President of China, Xi Jinping has postponed his visit to Pakistan which was scheduled  this month, due to the worsened law and order situation in Islamabad for past many days, ARY News reported.

ARY News correspondent, Shahid Rana told that the visit was cancelled after a team of Chinese officials in Islamabad did not grant security clearance. The President of China, Xi Jinping was to arrive here this month.

Sources said that the Chinese President was advised to hold meetings in Lahore, instead of Islamabad.

It was further said that the officials of the Chinese security team in Islamabad denied clearance, due to the ongoing protest sit-ins in Pakistan’s federal capital.

“The Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan has not yet confirmed the postponement of the visit of the Chinese President, sources within the federal government disclosed that the visit has been delayed temporarily”, said Sabir Shakir, ARY News Islamabad bureau chief.
