Chinoy proved himself a 'liar': MQM

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) spokesperson said on Tuesday that the Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) chief Ahmed chinoy has proved himself a liar, ARY News reported.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party spokesperson maintained that the CPLC chief has proved himself a liar by changing his statement regarding the rangers’ raid on his house.

The MQM spokesperson while addressing Chinoy said that MQM and Altaf Hussain raised voice against the injustices and atrocities but you changed your stance for unknown reasons.

It would have been better if he had not opted for a press conference and if he had done so, he should have stated facts and tendered his resignation in protest.

Altaf slams ‘unfair’ treatment of CPLC chief

Earlier Rangers personnel raided the residence of Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) chief Ahmed Chinoy and reportedly interrogated him.

Reports were that the Rangers raided Chinoy’s home over his purported connections with elements involved in abduction for ransom. Sources told that Rs 1.5 million were also recovered from his house, which was believed to be the ransom amount.

When approached by media, Chinoy denied the reports of a ‘raid’ and maintained that it was their visit and he answered Rangers about the queries.

Later in a press conference, the CPLC chief claimed that Rangers personnel had got an abductee recovered at around 4am and they visited my place at 5am adding that the Rangers appreciated the role of CPLC.
