Chinoy rejects Rangers' raid, ransom allegations

KARACHI: Rejecting media reports of Rangers raid at his house and subsequent interrogation, Chief of Citizens Police Liaison Committee Sindh Ahmed Chinoy has said that Rangers arrival at his place was a visit meant to exchange information on an abduction case, ARY News reported.

Rangers’ personnel recovered a boy Laraib from Indus Plaza, Sohrab Goth at 4.30am Tuesday, and later the law enforcers made it to Chinoy’s home for interrogation over his involvement in kidnapping.

In his press conference this evening, Chinoy said there was complete harmony between Rangers and CPLC.

He said Rangers personnel had got an abductee recovered at around 4am and they visited my place at 5am. He claimed that Rangers appreciated the role of the CPLC.

Flanked by CPLC officials and boy Laraib who was recovered by Rangers, Chinoy denied reports that Laraib was recovered from his home.

“Rangers didn’t raid my home. They came to exchange information and we had a normal discussion,” he claimed while rejecting media reports.

He said the CPLC always cooperates with law enforcement agencies. Chinoy was of the view that kidnappers of Laraib would soon be identified and brought to justice.

All allegations are a conspiracy against the CPLC, he mentioned.
