Chris Gayle exchanges banter with Ahmad Shahzad on Twitter

Dashing West Indian batsman Chris Gayle has consented to provide ‘wedding gift’ to Pakistani cricketer Ahmad Shahzad, who has just got hitched, when the latter asked for it in a free-flowing amicable conversation on micro-blogging website Twitter.

Gayle also wished Shahzad on his wedding and wrote “Be faithful. Blessings.”

The Pakistani cricketer replied, saying “you’re late …very late”.

The chat turned more interesting when Shahzad attached his wedding invitation card in a tweet and sent to Gayle. But the latter straight-away responded “Very late”

Shahzad in his next tweet reminded Gayle that “my gift is due on you. And we all want to see you rock the Pakistan Super League.”

The West Indian opener consented to the request and tersely replied “I will.”

In one tweet, Gayle responded to Shahzad’s tweet, trying to say “InshaAllah”. However, the original tweet to which Gayle replied was removed from Twitter handle of Ahmad Shahzad, for reasons better known to him.

Chris Gayle, is very much active on Twitter with over 2.6 million followers and 10,000 plus tweets, often indulge in conversation with fans and other celebrities including cricket stars.

During Pakistan’s tour to West Indies a year ago, Pakistani cricketers, especially Ahmad Shahzad and Shahid Afridi, were seen hanging out with Gayle and taking a selfie.
