Circular debt spirals again

The Sindh and Azad Kashmir governments are among the major defaulters in circular debt.

According to statistics, the recoveries from power sector in the first four months stood at Rs 357 billion while billing of Rs 425 billion was recorded during the same period.

The federal government and its subsidiaries have outstanding dues of Rs 8 billion in the circular debt.

Sindh has dues of Rs 63 billion, while Azad Kashmir owes Rs 44 billion dues to the IPPs. While Punjab and Khyber Pakhtonkhwa governments owe Rs 4.84 billion and Rs 20.72 billion, respectively. Balochistan
