As people and family protested and chanted slogans outside Frere Town police station of Clifton area, police sources maintained that Kashif opened fire on police and was killed in retaliatory fire not in any fake encounter.
On the other hand, the family of the dead youth claimed that he was arrested from Cantt Station a week ago and is today killed in a fake encounter.
As the protesters refused to disperse, police resorted to aerial firing for the purpose.
