Shahbaz leaves for Saudi Arabia with high level delegation

LAHORE: A delegation led by Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif today left for Saudi Arabia on a visit, ARY News reported.

A high-level delegation led by Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif with Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry left for Riyadh today.

The delegation will meet Saudi foreign and defence ministers and is also expected to meet Saudi Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz to give assurances to Saudi leadership , sources said.

Last week, during the joint session, the parliament while rejecting Saudi demands for Islamabad to join its military coalition against Shiite Huthi rebels passed a unanimous resolution to play the role of a mediator for peace in Yemen.

Arab countries including UAE expressed displeasure over Pakistan’s stance for not complying with Saudi’s demands.

Both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoys historic relations and both the countries have stood by each others in the hour of trial.
