LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated the Punjab Land Authority and Data Record Center in Lahore which would help in curbing embezzlement in land record.
The state-of-the-art facility conforms to the standards of Tier-III Data Center, the first of its kind in public sector. The center is set up at a cost of eight hundred million rupees.
The Land Records Management Information Systems (LRMIS) Project, which relates to property record and transactions, has scanned almost 30 million pages along with data entry of 55.5 million land owners.
The centre will speed up the issuance of Fard (copy of record of rights) in less than 30 minutes and attestation of mutation in less than 50 minutes. It would be open round the clock and access to basic information of rights in the land records through web-based internet portal.
