CM Sindh jumps in to rescue Sharjeel from NAB

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali has called upon the federal government to ‘rein in’ National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from vicitmising Pakistan People’s Party and its leaders.

According to a statement from CM House, Shah has expressed deep concern over harassment to senior PPP leader Sharjeel Inam Memon and other leaders of the party by NAB.

He alleged that NAB had begun a media trial of PPP leaders.

He said the media trial was aimed at tarnishing political image of the PPP.

The chief minister informed that “Mr Memon resigned from the Sindh cabinet because of his personal reasons and went abroad on sanctioned leave. But during this period his name was put on the Exit Control List (ECL) which is sheer dishonesty and victimization.”

NAB prosecutor had revealed about an investigation into the embezzlement of millions of rupees allegedly by former minister Sharjeel Memon in the Sindh information department.
