CM Sindh phones up Altaf, assures cooperation

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has assured the Mutahidda Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain of all-possible cooperation in addressing grievances of the party, ARY News reported.

The chief minister telephoned the MQM chief this morning to listen to the concerns of the party. The CM assured that he would play his role in defusing the tension.

He assured that any innocent worker of MQM, who is in custody of law enforcers, would be released.

The telephonic conversation between the two leaders continued for an hour.

Earlier, talking to ARY News, MQM chief lamented that banned outfits were operating openly and carrying out terrorist activities with impunity but law enforcement agencies were busy raiding MQM offices.

He maintained that such acts could further incite already angry masses and spread hatred among them.

MQM chief claimed that it was his party which backed army in every operation and lauded army’s martyrs.
