CM Sindh reviews preparations of PPP rally on Oct 16th

KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Thursday chaired a meeting of PPP Coordination Committee to review the preparations for the party’s rally on 16th October, ARY News reported.

Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will lead the rally in the memory of the martyrs of Karsaz terrorist attack in Karachi.

PPP leaders Nisar Khuhro, Saeed Ghani, Moula Bux Chandio, Dr. Nafisa Shah and Jam Khan Shoro attended the meeting.

Inspector General of Sindh Police Allah Dino Khawaja gave a detailed briefing on security to the party leaders in the meeting.

The procession routes of the rally also came under discussion in the meeting.

Information Advisor Moula Bux Chandio said that all opposition parties will also be invited in the rally.

A welcome parade on the return of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto to Pakistan was attacked by terrorists with twin bombing near Karsaz in Karachi on 18th October 2007, resulting in death of more than 100 of People’s Party workers and sympathizers. Bhutto survived the terrorist attack but assassinated in gun and bombing attack in Rawalpindi on December 27 same year after addressing an election rally of the party.

The party holding the rally in the memory of the victims of Karsaz bombing to be led by party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The rally will pass through several areas of the metropolis including Boat Basin, Mai Kolachi, Native Jetty, I.C.I Bridge, M.A. Jinnah Road, Kharadar, Lyari and Mazar-e-Quaid.
