CM Sindh tasks minister to arrest water thieves

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Monday tasked Minister Local Government Jam Khan Shoro to ensure garbage lifting from the city and arrest water thieves, ARY News reported.

“Action will be taken against the authority concerned if they failed to ensure cleanliness in their respective areas of the city. The city should be cleaned within three days. If garbage is not lifted then the officials concerned will not remain on their seats,” he said while presiding over a meeting in Karachi.

He also directed to disconnect all the illegal water connections in Karachi city and all the water thieves be arrested.

The meeting was informed that water thieves are giving losses of around Rs80 million a month and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board was getting only Rs15 million a month.
