“Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar could be given all those facilities that a prisoner deserves and nothing else. Local government representatives will be handed over powers according to law,” he said while talking to media during his visit to Central Police Office (CPO). He also badged upgraded police officers.

To a query, he said not only offices of political party were being demolished but other encroachment was also being pulled down for instance three-storey building on Gujjar Nullah.

He said street crime could not be uprooted but it could be curbed.

“Karachi operation will be successful when police will stand on their own feet.”

Murad said peace of the province was in the hands of police officers.

The minister also badged around 251 policemen who were promoted to DSP post.
