COAS assures full support to Turkish leadership to counter security challenges

ANKARA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday held separate meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, said the Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) in a statement.

The Turkish leadership appreciated Pakistan’s role for regional peace and the contributions of Pakistan Army in defeating terrorism, read the statement.

On the occasion, the Turkish leadership emphasized fraternal ties between two brotherly nations.

The COAS assured the Turkey leadership and brethren full support in handling their security challenges.

Gen Sharif also called on the Turkish defence minister, Chief of General Staff and expressed satisfaction over defence cooperation between the two states.

Both the sides agreed to further enhance defence collaboration.
