COAS hails tribals for fighting terrorists

PESHAWAR/RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday hailed the tribal people for their role in expelling terrorists from their areas and said that the military will continue its mission in the tribal region until the situation is not normalized here, ARY News reported.

The COAS on Tuesday visited Mohmand Agency in order to review development works there.

During his address with officials and troops, General Raheel Sharif said that the restructuring and restoration measures in the agency will aid in improving the circumstances here.

“Youth will be provided with educational and financial opportunities, which will have far-sighted effects”, he said. “Situation in the agency will soon come to normal”.

On this occasion, the army chief was also given a detailed briefing about ongoing development works in Mohmand Agency.

He said that the operations taken up by the Afghan national army against militants within Afghan territory will help contain cross-border terrorism, while the accomplishment of development works will help state get rid of terrorism menace.
