COAS Sharif, Air Chief vow to eliminate terrorism

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif on Thursday visited North Waziristan along with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, ARY News reported.

During the visit, the COAS and the Air Chief met the officials and troops of Pakistan Army deployed in Miranshah and reviewed the progress of the operation in North Waziristan Agency.

They reaffirmed commitment to eliminate all terrorists and rid Pakistan from all types of terrorism.

Officials briefed the military leadership that joint efforts of the two forces have yielded favorable results in the restive region.

“Effective air support together with the ground offensive has turned out to be an ideal strategy in eliminating the terrorists”, they said. “Forces are chasing the militants and there will be no refuge left for them”.

On this occasion, the Army Chief expressed his determination that the operation will be continued until complete eradication of terrorism from Pakistan.

General Raheel Sharif also directed the commanders and the civil agencies to make arrangements for dignified return of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their homes.
