COAS for reviving country’s identity as sporting nation

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has assured complete support to revive Pakistan’s identity as sporting nation, ARY News reported.

According to Director General ISPR, the COAS gave the remarks while witnessing the final of first Chief of Army Staff Hockey Cup in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

The Army Chief said lost glory in sports, especially in hockey will be brought back.

National Bank has won first Chief of the Army Staff Hockey Cup by defeating Pakistan International Airlines 2-0.

At the end of the competition, the army chief gave away trophy, medals and cash prizes to the winning teams of the tournament.

A cash prize of one million rupees was given to the winning National Bank team.
