COAS Sharif for civil-military approach to help Baluchistan prosper

QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif Friday said that Baluchistan’s potential as regional hub for energy and trade can only be realized through collective civil-military approach, ARY News reported.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Raheel Sharif visited Quetta on Friday where he was briefed by officials about overall security situation of the province.

On this occasion, the COAS praised efforts of security institutions and Frontier Corps (FC) Baluchistan in improving the law and order of the province.

“Potential of Baluchistan as regional hub for energy and trade will only be realized with collective civil-military approach for security and development in the province,” he said.

The army chief in his message to Baloch separatists asked them to lay down their arms and quit violence, adding that the ones throwing down arms will be welcomed.
