COAS urges resolution of longstanding int'l disputes

LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif Monday urged the international fraternity for immediate efforts to resolve longstanding disputes, so that international peace could be strengthened, ARY News reported.

He was a addressing a ceremony held with respect to the completion of a hundred years to the establishment of the military’s Infantry Division.

The COAS paid a tribute to the front line troops and said that the Infantry Division was formed during the First World War keeping in view its enormous significance.

He said that the First World War also took place for due attention was not paid towards the resolution of then disputes.

“Enhancement of one’s defense capabilities and professional skills is not only aimed at fighting a war, but it is also meant for stabilizing peace”, said General Sharif.

The Pak-Army Chief stressed the international fraternity that after a span of hundred years since the World War-I, the situation today once again demands resolution of longstanding disputes in the world, for which immediate efforts are utmost necessary.
