Coke Studio postpones episode 5 in light of Makkah tragedy

As a mark of respect and reverence for those who had lost their lives during last night’s Makkah tragedy, Coke Studio has decided to postpone its fifth episode.

September 5th was supposed to be the date at which Coke Studio’s fifth episode was to be released. However, owing to last night’s tragedy at Makkah, Coke Studio decided to postpone its latest episode.

Last night a large crane crashed down onto devotees inside a part of the Grand Mosque, killing at least 107 people and injuring as many as 230 people. The devout had arrived to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. It was said that the crane crash had been caused by severe rain and winds.

The fifth episode of the eighth season was to feature ‘Hina Ki ‘Khushbu’ by Samra Khan & Asim Azhar, ‘Khalis Makhan’ by Bakshi Brothers, ‘Kinarey’ by Mekaal Hasan Band and ‘Rangeela’ by  Ali Azmat.

So far this Coke Studio has been receiving rave reviews, mostly due to its stellar compositions and impressive collaborations. Sara Haider and Gul Panrra were noted for their strong performances with artists of note such as Ali Zafar and Atif Aslam.

Coke Studio did not announce a date as to when the fifth episode will be aired.
