Constitution, Army Act to be amended for special courts: Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed has said all recommendations for National Action Plan on counter terrorism had been agreed upon for formation of special courts, ARY News reported Friday.

Talking to media after Parliamentary Leaders conference in Islamabad, he informed that special courts would be formed with amendments into the Constitution and Pakistan Army Act.

The announcement made by the PM on December 17 regarding anti-terror plan is now to be implemented, added the minister.

He told that trial of terrorists, involved in slaughtering of people and committing fratricide, would be conducted in special courts.

The minister informed that the constitution amendment bill would be presented in the National Assembly on Saturday. While its voting will be conducted in the Lower House on Monday, he told.

He also hailed the role of former president Asif Ali Zardari in the All Parties Conference. This day will now be remembered as historic in Pakistan, he added.
