Corps commander vows to make Karachi peaceful city

KARACHI: Corps Commander Karachi, Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar Thursday vowed that Karachi will be made peaceful and stable, while he also encouraged the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to present recommendations for restoring the national economy, ARY News reported.

During his meeting with a delegation of traders, Gen Mukhtar praised the suggestions of trade fraternity for durable peace, business development and creation of industrial atmosphere in Karachi.

He told the delegates that an effective action was taken against extortionists, target killers, militants and criminal elements in the megapolis.

The corps commander expressed his determination for ensuring complete restoration of peace and stability in Karachi.

During the meeting, former president (KCC) Siraj Qasim Taili said that the restoration of peace is a bare necessity for improving business and industrial atmosphere in the city.

The delegation also expressed its concerns over poor state of administrative affairs including shortage of water, power and gas, traffic jam, police failure in dealing with issues and others.
