Countrywide rallies held to mark Kashmir Day

ISLAMABAD/QUETTA/LAHORE: Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed across the country and Azad Jammu and Kashmir today with rallies to express support to Kashmiris right to self-determination, ARY News reported Thursday.

The people of occupied Kashmir also observed the day with the renewed pledge to continue their freedom movement.

It was a public holiday in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The day dawned with special prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and early liberation of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

A rally to express Solidarity with Kashmir was held in Islamabad. Under the aegis of Muslim Institute the rally began from China-chowk and terminated at National Press Club, Islamabad. People from different walks of life participated in the rally. They were holding banners and placards expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people.

In Lahore, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) organized a rally in Lahore in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day. The speakers highlighted the Kashmir cause and measure taken by the PML (N) Government for solution of Kashmir issue.

Meanwhile, a rally was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to express solidarity with Kashmiris. The participants also made human chain to express support for the struggle of the Kashmiri people to get their right to self-determination.

Separately, overseas Pakistanis also took out rallies on the day to express their support with Kashmiris and denounced Indian forces aggression.

In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders have expressed gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan for observing Kashmir Solidarity Day.
