Court grants three-day physical remand of gang rape accused

According to police, accused Adnan Sanaullah and eight other accomplices kidnapped a 14-year girl from Multan Road of the city and subjected her of rape at a guest house at Mall Road.

Eight accused were produced in the court of magistrate under strict security. Police requested to the court for 10 days’ physical remand of the accused for further questioning and DNA test.

The counsels of four accused claimed that their clients were innocent, not involved in the crime and being trapped in the case. The counsels of other accused also argued against the police’s request for physical remand.

The court after arguments granted three days’ physical remand of the accused to police.

The case was registered against Adnan Sanaullah, Abdul Majid, Haris, Bilawal, Imran Shahid, Mian Umar, Qamar Zaman and Ameer Mohammad for gang rape of a 14-year teenaged girl at Race Course police station.

A teenage girl was kidnapped and subjected to gang-rape by a group of men in Lahore on Saturday. The victim was brought to hospital where initial medical tests revealed that the girl had been subjected to rape.

Police said that the teenager was first kidnapped by the accused before she was taken to a guest house in the Mall Road area. She was drugged and later six to eight men gang-raped her, police said.
