Court hears bail petitions of Qaimkhani, Rauf Siddiqui

KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court judge on Wednesday heard arguments of lawyers on bail petitions of Rauf Siddiqui and Anees Qaimkhani, ARY News reported.

ATC-II hearing a case related to the treatment of alleged terrorists at Dr Asim’s hospitals against the accused.

PSP leader Anees Qaimkhani’s lawyer in his arguments denied charges against his client. Counsel Ilyas Khan said Qaimkhani didn’t recommend for treatment of terrorists neither he had telephoned the arrested accused in this respect. He said the police has reopened old cases to arrest his client and have no evidence against him.

The counsel of Rangers in his arguments said that the accused were not entitled to bail. He also informed the court that he was not given the copies of the bail petition of Rauf Siddiqui.

The judge reserved verdict on the bail petitions of the two accused for August 3, after hearing arguments of the counsels of all parties.

Anees Qaimkhani, Rauf Siddiqui and others have been booked for allegedly asking Dr Asim, the main accused in the case, to provide treatment and shelter to the suspected terrorists, militants and gangsters at the branches of his hospital.
