Court sends three MQM female activists on remand

KARACHI: A local court on Saturday sent three female Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers on remand with police till August 30. The women were involved in attack on media houses following MQM Chief Altaf Hussain’s speech, ARY News reported.

The women accused arrested from Burns Road and Korangi areas yesterday were produced before court today. The court ruling was issued after hearing the case. They were later allowed by the court to meet their families.

The women workers of the MQM were involved in attack on the offices of ARY News and Samaa TV.

The arrested women include Rabia Baji, the joint incharge of the MQM’s Women Wing, her daughter and Qurratullain, an elected councilor.

To a query by media persons, Qurratullain said she was with MQM (Pakistan). Long live Pakistan.

“By God, we did not raise anti-Pakistan slogans,” she said.
