Court suspends OGRA order of hike in gas prices

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday suspended notification of Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) about 14 percent hike in gas prices, ARY News reported.

Justice Waqas Rauf Mirza of the high court heard a petition challenging the hike in gas tariffs by the regulatory body.

The petitioner said that OGRA increasing gas prices regularly without any justification, which is illegal.

The petitioner also said that the natural gas is home product seeking the court decision to declare the hike as illegal.

The bench suspended the notification of 14 pct raise in gas prices and issued notices to OGRA and other concerned parties to submit their reply over the matter.
