Sources told ARY News, the cracker attack occurred in Khayaban-e-Badban near the house of a local resident, Hashim.
When the incident happened today, the majority of the residents in the area were sleeping including Hashim’s family, said police.
The officials said that they were investigating the incident and the motive behind this attack remained unknown since Hashim recently came back to Pakistan from Africa.
The incident happened when the overall law and order situation in the city has improved since the paramilitary Rangers launched an operation against militants and criminals in Karachi in 2014.
However, the recent wave of uncertainty in the city posed a worrying situation for the law enforcement agencies and the people living here.
For instance, during a raid in Surjani area, Rangers claimed to recover a huge quantity of arms and ammunition, kept in a water tank on the indication of an accused affiliated with a political party.
