Khan was expected to attend the ceremony but he could not make it due to sickness.
Doctors said Khan could be released after 24 hours after his final examination and reports of the fever.
International Cricket Council (ICC) chief presented test mace to Pakistani test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq during a ceremony at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium today.
The ICC CEO David Richardson awarded the test mace to Misbah-ul-Haq on Pakistan’s reaching to the top of the ranking in the world under his leadership.
Pakistan tops the test ranking with 111 points followed by India with 110 points. Australia and England are at third and fourth place respectively with 108 points each.
Pakistan has become the fifth country to receive the prestigious trophy since existing rankings introduced by the governing body of the sport. Australia, England, India and South Africa are other four countries that have received the trophy.
